Performance Prospectus: A complete guide to A Crack in Everything [PDF]

Choreographer Zoe Scofield and visual artist Juniper Shuey offer a surreal, visually arresting examination of the gap between cause and effect in A Crack in Everything. The evening-length work explores the enduring questions of justice posed in the Greek tragedy The Oresteia through dramatic video and costumes, atmospheric installations and lighting, and Scofield’s ritualistic movement. A Crack in Everything was made over a span of 2 years with production residencies at OtB and in Hungary, New Zealand and at the prestigious MacDowell Colony (New Hampshire).

After first appearing at OtB in the 2005 NW New Works Festival, the company has gone on to create 3 full-length works and has been commissioned by the likes of Spectrum Dance Theater, Shakespeare Theatre Company (Washington, DC), Portland Institute for Contemporary Art, Bates Dance Festival and New York Live Arts. A Crack In Everything premiered in July 2011 at Jacob’s Pillow before commencing a national and international tour throughout the 11/12 season.

Co-commissioned by On the Boards, Bates Dance Festival, Dance Theater Workshop, Jacob's Pillow, PICA and the National Performance Network. A Crack in Everything was supported through On the Boards' Dance Production Program.
