ON THE BOARDS UPDATE - FEBRUARY 02, 2021 11:00AM

The health and well-being of our community is of the utmost importance to us, here at On the Boards. With that in mind, we want to share this important covid tool, created by the Washington State Department of Health to help people navigate the vaccination process. For residenence of Washington State, you can use this form to learn whether or not you are eligible for the current stage of vaccine dispursement. Use the WA Phase Finder to see if you're currently eligible, and to provide your contact info to the DOH so that they can reach you when you are eligible. You can also view this WA DOH webpage to find vaccination sites and learn more about the phasing program.

ON THE BOARDS UPDATE - NOVEMBER 16, 2020 10:00AM

The rise of COVID-19 cases in Washington State and Governor Inslee’s reinstated restrictions have led On the Boards leadership to postpone in-person performances of A THOUSAND WAYS (Part Two): An Encounter by 600 HIGHWAYMEN. We will be announcing new dates for this rescheduled performance very soon. The artists intend for these performances to accompany our transitions from isolation to congregation.

Many of us are craving art, connection, and community more than ever. We are pleased to once again present performances of A THOUSAND WAYS (Part One): A Phone Call, which takes place over the phone, during the dates originally scheduled for Part Two: An Encounter. You can purchase tickets for Nov 20-22 here.

ON THE BOARDS UPDATE - May 4, 2020, 11:00AM

Due to COVID-19, rental space is not available for the near future in compliance with the state’s Stay-at-Home Order.   We’re constantly re-evaluating the situation based on recommendations by Governor Jay Inslee around what is deemed safe and responsible.  The leadership at On the Boards takes COVID-19 very seriously.  We care deeply about our community and encourage you to protect yourselves and the people around you.

While gatherings of groups of people are currently prohibited, live streaming events are on the list of essential activities.  If you have a live streaming event that would benefit from space usage or a rental inquiry at On the Boards for the future, please contact us at rentals@ontheboards.org to tell us about your idea.

The initial stay home order was previously set to end on May 4 but will now include a “phased in” approach to the re-opening of businesses and daily life.

On the Boards have seen a tremendous response to our March 11 decision to make OntheBoards.tv free and we continue to be incredibly proud to provide access to free performance at this challenging time.  In response to Governor Inslee’s announcement On the Boards has decide to extend the free OntheBoards.tv offer. You can now use the code ARTATHOME20 through May 15, 2020.

Our programming updates

  • We have currently suspended ticket sales for March-May 2020. We hope to have further updates about possible rescheduling or postponement very soon.
  • On the Boards takes great pride in being a home for artists, a place where they can thrive and where their creative practice and opportunities will be continually supported. The leadership at On the Boards is committed to paying all artist fees for the rest of the year regardless of programming shifts that may occur.

On the Boards business

Our staff has begun to work entirely from home, and because of this, we are taking some hints from artist Michelle Ellsworth about how to have an effective and well-curated Skype (or Zoom, Ring Central, or Teams) online meeting. Check out this note from Artistic Director Rachel Cook on our Journal and watch the video from Michelle.

(PS- Michelle made this for OntheBoards.tv)
