More from the inbox about Cotton Fields Jan 15, 2011

Here's a sampling of the comments I received in my inbox today:

"Thank you guys for making this happen! It was a fantastic performance and I'm going to see it again. I love everything, music, band actors, such an emotionally charged experience...and I danced while watching them and wanted them to keep playing all night long so I can dance all night long. I think dancing with these guys is the best way to see them :)

Thank you again for bringing them to Seattle!

Unforgettable experience!"

"Really really really fabulous and incredible."

From Kasia: little club of the wonderful and terrible Jan 15, 2011

[I'm posting some of the reviews I've received in my inbox today - enjoy! -Jessica]

The performances I have LOVED over the years have always been very precisely constructed, with results that can only be achieved with a great deal of care and an understanding of both the piece and what you’re doing with the performance... And they have often haunted me, with needling little questions about what kind of people we are, and how we treat one another, and how we live with that. I’m SO pleased to include Solitude in that little club of the wonderful and terrible.

"And now for something completely different" Jan 14, 2011

The SunBreak's Michael Baker just posted his take on In the Solitude of Cotton Fields:

"If it helps, imagine the Blues Brothers transplanted into an Eastern European punk concert, and improvising a slam-poetry show out of a few of Roland Barthes' essays. The curtain goes up on a stage filled with dry ice fog, lights shining up, with two men in black suits with skinny black ties fronting a real, and very talented band (The Natural Born Chillers, throwing out rock, techno, and ambiant with aplomb)."
