Love for She She Pop from Minneapolis and Vancouver BC Jan 28, 2013
by Jessica
She She Pop & Their Fathers are in Seattle after two incredibly well received runs at the Walker Art Center and the Push International Performing Arts Festival. Here's a sampling of some reviews:
"Relatable, charming, hilarious at times, raw, and blunt, this piece is more than a translation and adaptation of Shakespeare, but rather a work of art, a performance that incorporates all you could want in a piece of theatre. Including three men dancing in boots to Dolly Parton. Really, you don’t want to miss this." - Sad Mag
"The actors in She She Pop and their fathers open up a frank discussion about familial obligation, the nature of love and the fear of growing old. It gets really personal. It gets really uncomfortable. And it gets really beautiful." - Plank
"Testament felt immediate and important, and not just because my father was seated beside me in the theater." - Walker blog (from a patron who did indeed bring her father to the performance)
The company is here for only four nights, Jan 31-Feb 3. Read more and buy tickets for She She Pop & Their Fathers.
