It's Father's Day this Sunday, so we're celebrating by offering $1 porters from Deschutes Brewery for all the dads who attend the NW New Works Festival that evening. If you're a dad just mention this at the bar on Sunday, June 19, at either the Studio or the Mainstage to enjoy a $1 porter.

Adam Sekuler created a short film in conjunction with Shannon Stewart's A Better Container, playing this weekend as part of the NW New Works Festival. Watch the 5 minute film, also titled A Better Container, before heading to the Mainstage Showcase this weekend!

One of the highlights of the 2010 NW New Works Festival was Erin Leddy's My Mind Is Like an Open Meadow. After she wrapped the festival here, Erin developed the piece into a full length performance. It was just announced that the piece won 5 Drammy Awards (Portland's theater awards), including best Solo Perfomance, Sound Design, Lighting Design, Original Music and Original Production.

Part & Parcel's "By Guess & By God" was choreographed & performed by Allie Hankins & Mary Margaret Moore at NWNW 2011. The following are musings that the landscape of Part & Parcel opened in me, the viewer, also a poet.

VD:  So here's my first question: Is there anything in particular you expect from the Northwest and locally from this festival?

AKA: Expect, hmmmm. I have difficulty with expectations, but I like seeing support from On the Boards for amazing local talent.

The Saturday 5pm Studio showcase of the NW New Works Festival is SOLD OUT. A waiting list will be started (in person only) when the box office opens at 3pm. We try to take only the number of people on the list we feel we will be able to seat. If we do not get you seated from the waiting list, we will do a refund at show time. We will not be able to tell you whether or not we can get you in until show time and we see how many seats are left unclaimed.
